Robotic-assisted Surgery
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is the first in St. Charles County to offer robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
Robotic-assisted technology provides surgeons with greater precision and control, and can often reduce the risk of complications and reduce recovery times. These state-of-the-art capabilities allow for more complex surgical treatments of many diseases and conditions.
Currently, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital offers the following types of da Vinci surgeries:
- Colorectal issues (diverticular disease, colon cancer)
- General surgery issues (hernias, including inguinal, ventral, umbilical)
- Urologic issues (BPH, prostate cancer, ureteropelvic junction obstruction, kidney cancer)
- Gynecologic issues (pelvic organ prolapse, conditions needing hysterectomy)
