A Healthy Diet is Your Best Medicine
Proper nutrition is an essential component of health
care and can help lower your risk of heart disease and stroke. Individuals with
a variety of conditions and illnesses can improve their overall health and
quality of life with a wholesome diet.
As part of our commitment to improving
the health in our community there is no charge for diabetes education and nutrition counseling services,
but a physician referral is required.
We see
patients 18 years of age and older and have appointments available on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital offers
outpatient medical nutrition counseling and support to patients with a variety
of diagnosis and nutritional goals, including:
- Diabetes
- Cardiovascular disease
- Celiac disease
- Chronic kidney disease
- Healthy eating
- Weight management (to lose or
gain weight)
