BJC Hospitals in St. Charles County Earn National Recognition
Progress West HealthCare Center and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital received thirteen 2010 Professional Research Consultants (PRC) awards for excelling in patient care. PRC is a nationally known marketing research company that recognizes health care providers that put patient service first with results built upon the previous year's patient satisfaction scores.
Progress West received two Top-Performer awards for outpatient services and outpatient surgery. Progress West departments also winning awards for being in the top 10 percent in the nation for excellence were the Emergency Department, inpatient, outpatient and outpatient radiology and outpatient surgery.
Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital won 5-star excellence awards for the Emergency Department, outpatient, outpatient radiology and outpatient radiation oncology. Inpatient services won a 4-star award for its performance.
In random and confidential phone interviews, patients are asked to assess the quality of care they received at Progress West and Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital. The findings are then presented to the Hospital to use in continuous improvement and enhancement of patient satisfaction.
