This video-guided program is for parents, grandparents and teenagers (ages 10-15, if accompanied by an adult) who baby-sit. Class facilitators use the American Heart Association material. Course includes instruction and hands-on practice in:
- Infant, child and adult CPR
- First aid for choking
- The use of AEDs when appropriate

Infant Massage

Parents and expectant parents will learn hands-on massage techniques that promote relaxation and help develop a stronger bond with their infant (newborn-15 months). All children and parents, including colicky babies and dads with breast-fed infants, can benefit from this experience. Taught by St. Louis Children's Hospital Certified Infant Massage Instructors®. Each family will receive the illustrated guidebook, "Baby's First Touch: Step-by-Step Instructions for Infant Massage," and a bottle of massage oil.

Are you considering a new babysitter? Enroll him or her in this class to encourage the best care for your child. The class is a great introduction to the basics of babysitting. Topics include the business of babysitting, child development, safety and first aid, and fun and games. A 28-page workbook and light snack provided.

Safety Stop

A limited selection of helmets, car seats and home safety equipment is available for purchase at discounted prices as part of a Safety Stop appointment.
Car Seats -- Parents bring their child, vehicle and car seat to Safety Stop and a certified child passenger safety technician will inspect the seat, check it for a correct fit to the child and show them how to install it properly.
Helmets -- Kids can bring their own helmet to Safety Stop where a trained helmet safety expert will check it for proper fit. Parents and their children will learn how to adjust the helmet themselves so they can continue this important safety practice at home.
Home Safety Consults -- We will review potential injury risks and specific ways to make your home a safer environment for your children. This service is perfect for expectant or new parents. All participants receive a FREE home safety starter kit!
